Winter is about rest, stillness and non-doing...and it’s also the time to gestate the new seeds that will get activated in the new cycle.
Gestating seeds doesn’t mean activating the seeds!
It means feeling their shape in the dark of your psyche. Materialising their overall existence and trajectory in the closest way to your heart…
The core idea is to connect with what matters and what you really want.
But it isn’t always easy to sit in meditation and wait for the answers to come.
Here is a set of questions that can help.
Your heroes are YOU
Listing and studying your favourite movies/series/books of all time:
what do all your favourite characters have in common? These are the qualities that YOU have (sometimes in dormancy), and are attracted to actualising within yourself, because we are ever only attracted to what we already are.
What are they motivated by? What drives them and sets them apart? Yes, these are a reflection of what drives you and what sets you apart, in potential or not.
what do all the stories you are attracted to all have in common? This reveals the chapters of your personal path, the challenges and twists you need to face in your own cyclical evolution.
The four faces of YOU
One of the most amazing thing I’ve learned in archetypal psychology is that there are 4 primary archetypes of the psyche - two masculine, pertaining to the material world and two feminine, pertaining to the immaterial world: the Sovereign, Warrior, Magician and Lover.
When interrogating yourself as to what you REALLY REALLY want, it is helpful to realise that you aren’t just one person. As a living ecosystem, you have four corners, like the four directions, four ‘faces’ who all want slightly different things.
The Sovereign within cares about having a clear direction and plan. He is your inner leader and decision maker. His desires are defined around your highest purpose and vision of what’s possible.
Sovereign questions: where am I going? What’s my wildest dream/vision?
The Warrior within cares about achievements and protecting what is value. So obvivously this is the part of you that desires to achieve and conquer new territories - from a better work-life balance, to more money, to …anything tangible.
Warrior questions: what exactly do I want to achieve and why? What do I need to do?
The Magician within cares about growth and wisdom. All our desires to learn new things, to become a greater version of our self, to acquire resources and connect to the spiritual dimension of life comes from this ‘face’ of us.
Magician question: how can I be more and more comfortable with the unknown? How do I increase my resources and trust in life? How can I learn and grow?
The Lover within is in total opposition to the Warrior: she wants to live life, just BEING herself, nothing to do, Now. The Sovereign cares about the future… the Lover about the now. Any time you realise you’re feeling like you want to stop chasing your dreams for a second to smell the roses, the Lover is pulling you in. Showing you how you need very little to be content, happy and blissful.
Lover questions: how can I live my life in deep knowing that I have all I need? How can I operate from fullness and not lack? Where is my daily joy? How do I make my life more pleasurable, more meaningful, and full of love?
